Appraisal

An attractive, substantial house, which has been very well maintained to present an early aspect, retaining important salient features and materials. A later block has been designed in a style that reflects the proportions and appearance of the original block. Finely detailed, the house incorporates decorative rendered and cut-stone dressings, while the advanced corner bays to the north-east are architectural features that add interest and variety to the plan and elevations. Located in landscaped grounds and complemented by an attendant gate lodge (22831004/WD-09-31-04), the site contributes to the historic character of the locality.
