Freestanding cut-limestone Celtic High Cross-style monument, dated 1874. Street fronted with battered plinth to perimeter supporting cast-iron railings.

Appraisal

A monument erected by Henry Windsor Villiers Stuart (1827-95) in memory of 'HENRY VILLIERS BARON STUART De DECIES [1803-74] AND HIS WIFE PAULINE LADY STUART De DECIES [d. 1867]' forming part of a self-contained group alongside the adjacent Villierstown Church (Aghlish) (see 22819003) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement as the set piece of an estate village street scene.
