Description

Five-arch limestone road bridge over Ballyfinboy River, built c.1790. Rubble walls with dressed voussoirs to round arches and with V-cut-waters to west side of bridge. Southernmost arch is flood arch. Concrete casing to piers. Bridge recently repaired and re-pointed.

Appraisal

An elegant narrow bridge with low arches over the Ballyfinboy river on the south side of the village. The splayed parapet walls and round arches add character to the bridge whose quality of construction has ensured its survival over two centuries.
