Description

Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, c.1850, now derelict. Smooth rendered walls. Projecting pedimented door surround. All openings blocked. Pitched slate roof with central rendered chimney stack and bracketed eaves. Two bridges over the Owendoher River and lengths of pathway nearby may relate to this lodge and Ballyroan House.

Appraisal

Though located at a distance from Ballyroan House, this small lodge with simple classical features is a valuable remnant of the former demesne, particularly in association with the nearby footpaths and bridges.
