Multiple-bay, two-storey, high-roofed Victorian Gothic house, c. 1872, with gables and dormer windows. Tower with truncated pyramidal roof. Two-storey gate lodge by gateway at main road has pitched slate roof and later features. Two-storey barn behind with hipped roof and rendered walls.
A fine and comparatively rare example of a Victorian Gothic country house in the Ruskinian style, set within a wooded parkland. Probably designed by John McCurdy. Retains most of its original external and internal fabric.
