Freestanding bronze statue of classical male figure, erected c.1850, standing on stepped bronze base, chamfered to lower step, in turn atop stone pedestal of coursed rock-faced limestone. Name of French foundry 'Val d'Osne' in relief to metal base. Stands in grounds of Castle Leslie to front of country house.
This statue adds variety to the features and structures associated with the Castle Leslie estate at Glaslough. The accomplished bronze sculpture is set off by the rugged simplicity of the stone base. The link to a French foundry is interesting.
