Description

Detached T-plan five-storey mill, built c.1800, now disused. Replacement pitched corrugated-iron roof. Rubble stone walls with some dressed quoins. Brick dressing to segmental-arched window openings. Remains of mill wheel to south gable. Former mill house to site.

Appraisal

This former mill is a reminder of the industrial heritage which was associated with the harnessing of the River Boyne. The mill retains many interesting features and materials, such as the slate roof and brick dressings. The mill wheel, though in poor condition, survives to the south gable, and is a significant contributor to the significance of the building.
