Description

Freestanding mausoleum, erected c.1799, comprising of ashlar cube, surmounted by carved stone urn. Ashlar granite walls with channelled quoins and carved stone plaques. Tuscan columns flanking entrance door. Carved limestone dressings to window openings.

Appraisal

This mausoleum was built by the Hamilton family, in memory of Charles Hamilton, Lord Dunboyne. The mausoleum is of apparent architectural design, with interesting features such as the carved urn and Tuscan columns and was clearly executed by skilled craftsmen.
