Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, built c.1765. Hipped tile roof with a rebuilt red brick chimneystack. Squared stone walls with a limestone eaves course. Timber sash windows. Modern flat roof extension to front elevation. Stone curtain wall linking the gate lodge to the gates.
This gate lodge forms part of an interesting group of mill related structures, with the mill, water channels, mill house and gates. Though much of the original form of the building is obscured by the modern extension, the building retains the original stone walls, and timber sash windows.
