Appraisal
This former railway station, executed to the designs of George Papworth, is of apparent architectural form and design. The gabled breakfronts are articulated with recessed blind arches and ashlar limestone dressings. The building retains many original features and materials, such as the timber sash windows and slate roofs. The former station forms part of an interesting group with the former warehouse to the north-east and the former railway hotel to south-west. |
