Description

Terraced two-bay two-storey house, built c. 1880. Pitched slate roof, crested clay ridge tiles, red brick corbelled chimneystack, profiled cast-iron gutter on moulded yellow brick eaves course, circular cast-iron downpipe. Red brick walling laid in Flemish bond, granite plinth. Square-headed window openings, granite sills, painted timber two-over-two sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed brick-arched door opening, painted timber pilasters with console brackets supporting decorative frieze, cornice and plain-glazed fanlight, painted timber door with four flat panels. House fronts directly onto street.

Appraisal

This red bricked house forms part of an attractive terrace of houses of similar nature. It has retained its original timber sliding sash windows which helps maintain the character of the street. The yellow brick eaves course provides contrast to the red brick work. This building makes a positive contribution to the street.
