Single-cell boathouse built c.1860, with man-made waterway leading from boathouse to lake. Pitched decorative slate roof with cast-iron cresting and finials, timber bargeboards and timber battened gable. Random course stone walls with openings to front and rear. Stone steps lead to stone parapet running along waterway.
This boathouse remains intact and is a reminder of a past era and the social pursuits of the landed gentry. Its location within the Lough Rynn Estate, its original design and original fabric make this an important structure within the estate.
