Seven-arch limestone road bridge over the River Shannon, built c.1840. Full-height V-shaped cutwaters with pedestrian refuges and segmental arch-rings. West side has sections of replacement concrete blockwork. Cast-iron tie bars to spandrels.

Appraisal

This bridge is a socially-important structure, which straddles the River Shannon, linking counties Leitrim and Roscommon. Its robust design, with full-height cutwaters, makes it a fine example of nineteenth-century masonry river bridges.
