Appraisal

This is a good example of a cast-iron water pump dating to the early twentieth century. It exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly curved handle and fluted shaft and upper section. Located near a prominent crossroads it once provided the village drinking water. It is located adjacent to the 'Lazy Wall' where people gathered following Sunday mass and other social events.
