Description

Corner-sited end of row five-bay single-storey public house, built c.1800, having pitched and flat-roofed additions to rear. Pitched thatched roof with rendered copings to gables, and low rendered chimneystacks. Whitewashed rendered walls. Square-headed openings with replacement timber windows and timber battened door and glazed timber door, former with plain overlight.

Appraisal

This public house is a good example of a thatched premises which is now quite rare. It recalls what must have been formerly a more common building mode in the town.
