Terraced two-bay three-storey former house, built c.1800, having recent shopfront to front (south) elevation. Later in use as school, now disused. M-profile pitched slate roof with shouldered red brick chimneystack and terracotta ridge tiles, red brick parapet wall having limestone coping. Cast-iron rainwater goods to façade. Recently repointed red brick laid in Flemish bond to walls. Square-headed window openings having raised render reveals, gauged brick voussoirs, dressed granite sills and one-over-one pane timber sash windows. Recent timber shopfront with square-headed glazed doors and windows.
This well maintained and well proportioned building stands lower than its neighbouring buildings. Recent repointing of the brickwork makes it a focal point on the terrace, and the use of red mortar to add colour to bricks is a typical feature in Dublin throughout the centuries. The decreasing scale of fenestration is typical of its time, as the main living areas were on the first floor.
