Appraisal

This chimney is an unusual feature in the rural landscape, and its rubble stone construction is particularly noteworthy. Industrial chimneys are more commonly found in urban areas and are predominantly of brick construction. It is an important part of the industrial heritage of Coppanagh and its surrounding area, and forms part of an interesting group with the associated mill and miller's house.
