Freestanding circular-plan chimney, built c.1860, now disused. Roughly coursed rubble limestone shaft terminating in annulus of brickwork with serrated face over projecting brick-on-edge course. Associated with a former corn mill and flax mill complex.
This chimney is an unusual feature in the rural landscape, and its rubble stone construction is particularly noteworthy. Industrial chimneys are more commonly found in urban areas and are predominantly of brick construction. It is an important part of the industrial heritage of Coppanagh and its surrounding area, and forms part of an interesting group with the associated mill and miller's house.
