Appraisal

A prominent bridge with four impressive arches which is an important landmark in the surrounding landscape. It displays high-quality stonework in its arches, spandrels, parapet walls and impressive full-height cutwaters. This solid bridge continues to fulfil its important function of crossing the river at the highest point to which ordinary tides flow.
