Triple-arch rubble stone road bridge, built c.1780, spanning river. Round-headed arches having tooled limestone voussoirs springing from rubble stone piers with V-cutwaters to south elevation. Rubble stone spandrels and parapet walls with rounded coping. Later cast-iron bracing plates to spandrels.
A fine bridge, constructed of local materials, which is a testament to the skill of the masons and craftsmen involved in its construction. Set in the town centre, it carries substantially more traffic that its original designer could ever have envisaged.
