Freestanding slipway, built c.1860. Gravel to surface with flanking dressed limestone walls having red brick and rubble stone repairs. Recent rendered wall and steps to rear (north-east) of slope. Quay wall to waterfront with graving dock to north.
This well executed slipway survives in good repair and, along with the quay wall and neighbouring graving dock, contributes positively to the harbours aesthetic appeal. The impressive dressed limestone quay wall and its integral slipway and graving dock serve as a reminder of localised developments in the maritime and fishing industries.
