Description

Triple-arch limestone bridge, built c.1800, spanning Fealge River. Bridge continue to east below two buildings on Rossa Street. Elliptical-headed arches with roughly dressed rubble limestone voussoirs and soffits. Dressed limestone block V-cutwaters to west elevation. Rubble limestone spandrels rising to parapet to west elevation, having moulded render solider coping.

Appraisal

A well-executed bridge that has been excellently maintained, with its well-designed elliptical arches standing as testament to the skill of the stonemasons and builders involved in its construction. Dressed stone voussoirs, cutwaters and solider coping provide textural contrast to the rubble stone walls.
