Corner-sited attached five-bay three-storey office, built c.1920, with chamfered corner (north-west) sited entrance bay and three bay breakfront to front (west). Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, gable copings and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered parapet wall to front and side (east) elevations concealing gutters, with rendered coping and cornice. Rendered walls throughout, having rusticated channelled rendering and plinth to ground floor surmounted by platbands and tooled limestone sill course to first floor. Square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills in single, paired and groups of three having six-over-six and four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows and render surrounds to upper floor window openings. Timber casement windows to ground floor openings. Square-headed door openings with replacement single and double-leaf timber panelled doors with overlights and tooled limestone stepped approaches.
This elegantly proportioned corner-sited building has maintained its historic character and form through the retention of numerous original features including numerous sash windows, cast-iron rainwater goods and decorative render details. Being of a larger and more imposing form than other buildings in the area, this building is particularly prominent in the streetscape.
