Ashlar limestone quay, built c. 1860. Parapet walls with rounded copings. Pair of monolith square-profile piers with recessed centre panels and rounded caps leading to flight of limestone steps. Cast-iron bollard between piers.
Notable late nineteenth century quay, which illustrates the skill of late nineteenth craftsmen and engineers. Constructed with ashlar limestone the quay is accessed by a flight of stairs with ornate piers and cast-iron bollard. Set adjacent to the railway station and former custom house, it attests to the thriving trade industries which once formed a vital part of Cobh’s economy.
