Attached two-storey three-bay house, built c.1800. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed door opening flanked by engaged Roman Doric columns to timber panelled door, replacement fanlight and limestone threshold. Rendered boundary wall surmounted by cast-iron railings and having square-profile rendered piers with Tuscan column in antis and flanked by outer Ionic pilaster with cast-iron pedestrian gate.
A fine example of a house from the late eighteenth century with its noticeably large windows with their recessed reveals and the relationship of void to solid in the front elevation. The classical detailing of the Tuscan columns and Ionic pilasters is also very interesting. The treatment of the gate piers in unique in the area and the city for a building of this scale.
