Liscannor paving and limestone kerbing, built c. 1860, with cast-iron railings to road side.
This stretch of paving is a particularly notable feature of Cork city. It is unusual to find a relatively intact stretch of nineteenth-century stone paving, kerbing, steps and cast-iron railings. While some paving and kerbing survives in several locations in the city, the survival of this large stretch is particularly unusual and important. The quality of materials utilised in the construction of this paving scheme contrasts with the modern concrete pavements, steps and railings elsewhere in the streetscape and city.
