Description

Fifteen-bay single-storey former railway station, c. 1875, with expressed structural grid façade, battered infill panels and semi-circular window openings. Converted into industrial buildings. Corrugated asbestos cement sheeting and slates roof.

Appraisal

Very significant nineteenth-century former railway station building, with unusual and very attractive curved outer wall. The building is in an area with a strong connection to the various railway systems of Cork, the buildings related to which form an important, although scattered, group. The building is no longer in its original use but retains much of its structural and external visual integrity.
