Description

Detached three-bay two-storey house, built 1886. Pitched roof with rendered chimney stack. Rendered gables. Red brick to front elevation in English garden wall bond with contrasting blue brick courses above window heads. Camber headed openings with brick swept heads. Windows have cills and are timber sliding sash two over two pane. Later timber panelled door with plain overlight. Large garden area with red brick wall and cast iron railings to street.

Appraisal

Typical good quality red brick domestic building of the late-nineteenth century, retaining characteristic features such as timber sliding sash windows. Significant as a type, but also for its proximity to St. Finbar's Cathedral.
