Detached three-bay two-storey red brick gate lodge, dated 1894, now in use as private dwelling. Hipped slate roof with decorative eaves course, rendered chimneystacks and crested ridge tiles. Bay window, entrance porch and oriel window to south elevation. Single-storey extensions to east and north, two-storey extension to north and timber windows replaced c.1985.
Although Agher no longer survives, this gate lodge, now known as "Church View", forms part of an interesting group of related structures with Agher Church and Agher School which were built or rebuilt by James Sanderson Winter (1832-1911). The gate lodge, also built by Winter ("J.S.W. 1894"), is of considerable architectural interest owing to its irregular plan, the treatment of the windows, ranging from bays to oriels, enhancing its appeal. The gate lodge is a colourful addition to the surrounding landscape with it red brick walls, moulded brick eaves course and terracotta ridge cresting.
